Galveston County Historical Commission

Under the authority of the Texas Historical Commission, county historical commissions are volunteer organizations that help preserve, protect, and promote a county's historic and cultural resources.

The Galveston County Historical Commission's recent projects include:
- Publication of a complete history of Galveston County entitled Galveston, Texas: A Narrative and Pictorial History.

Mark your calendars!
For April 18th at 3pm- you are invited to the dedication and unveiling of one of our newest Texas Historical Markers at the League-Kempner Home at 1702 Broadway. Refreshments and access to tour the home will follow. The home is still being renovated, and significant progress has been made.
